Northern Ireland weather: Sun returns but how long will it last?

The sun has made a reappearance in Northern Ireland, but how long will it last?

Monday looks set to be warm, dry and cool along the coast with temperatures forecast to hit 24 degrees, mainly in southern areas.  The east coast will be hit with a brisk northwesterly wind.

The evening will be bathed in sunshine with low cloud developing overnight and temperatures dropping to a minimum of 11 degrees.

Tuesday begins with a cloudy start soon brightening up to leave a dry day with some warm sunshine. Clouding over later. Maximum temperatures of around 20 °C.

The rain, however, returns on Wednesday. The day will begin drier and brighter later with a few showers.

The rest of the week looks unsettled with sunshine and showers.
