Northern Ireland weather warning for ice as temperatures set to plummet

The Met Office has issued a Northern Ireland-wide weather warning for ice.

Forecasters have issued the yellow 'be prepared for disruption' alert for the entire region which comes into effect from 4pm on Tuesday and continues on to 11am on Wednesday.

Icy patches are expected tonight and into Wednesday morning, the Met Office said.

Untreated surfaces, pavements and cycle paths and where showers wash off treatment, could be particularly treacherous as temperatures plummet.

"Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces may occur."
