Northern Ireland weather warning: Torrential rain, thunder and hail on the way

A weather warning has been issued for heavy rain in Northern Ireland.

Thursday is expected to see heavy showers accompanied by hail and thunder in places.

Torrential downpours are expected to develop in the evening.

Forecasters are warning of the risk of localised flooding and low level travel disruption.

Some areas will see 10 to 15mm of rain expected developing within one hour and as much as 20 to 30mm is possible over three hours.

The yellow warning will be in place between 12pm on Thursday and 7pm.
