A woman has been hospitalised after being struck in the back of the head with an object while making her way to her car.

The victim was struck from behind with either a stick or a bat in the Lisnisky Lodge area of Portadown on Tuesday December 18.

She fell to the ground before being struck several more times to her head and her body before the assailant left the scene.

The woman received hospital treatment for cuts and bruises.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them in Lurgan on 101, quoting the reference 309 with the date 18/12/2018
