Northern Ireland woman killed in two-car collision in Donegal

A 25-year-old woman from Northern Ireland has died in a car crash in Co Donegal.

The two-car collision happened at Fahan, outside Buncrana, just before 11pm on Thursday.

The woman, who was driving one of the cars, was fatally injured.

She is thought to be from the Waterside area of Derry.

The driver of the other car, a 20-year-old man, was injured and taken to Letterkenny University Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

There were no passengers in either car.

The road was closed to allow a technical examination by forensic experts. Gardai appealed for witnesses.
