'Not a case of finders keepers' - PSNI aim to reunite £50 with owner

The PSNI have issued an appeal after a woman left £50 behind at a self-service checkout in Ballyclare.

The incident happened in Asda a short time before 9am on Saturday, after the woman withdrew the sum of money using a cashback facility.

Forgetting to take her money, the till was attended to a short time afterwards by a man and a woman.

Writing on Facebook, a PSNI spokesperson said: "Fortunately for all concerned this area is very well covered by CCTV, and staff were able to show (very clearly) the male and female who attended the same self-service till immediately after the forgetful lady. We’ve taken possession of a copy of that CCTV footage should we need it to aid our enquiries.

"Police would therefore be most grateful if one or both of the individuals make contact with us on 101, or call into ASDA and speak with staff with a view to reuniting the £50 with its owner.

"It’s not always a case of finders keepers, losers weepers."

Anyone contacting the non-emergency number 101 is asked to quote the reference number 525 with the date 10/02/2018.
