Nottingham Forest sack Martin O'Neill after five months in charge
Martin O'Neill has been sacked by Nottingham Forest after just five months in charge.
The former Northern Ireland captain, appointed to the position in January, was let go after a number of players turned against him it has been reported.
It comes just days after Roy Keane departed the club as his assistant.
O'Neill was in the Nottingham Forest team which won consecutive European Cups in 1978 and 1979.
The 67-year-old guided his team to ninth in the Championship in the season just past.
“The club would like to thank Martin for all his efforts during his time at The City Ground and wish him well for the future,” a club statement said.
