OAP injured in bank tumble

A man in his 80s injured his back after falling almost 40ft down a steep bank at the back of his house in north Belfast.

Emergency crews were called to Glenside Park on the Crumlin Road when the accident happened as the man carried out work in his garden just after 2pm on Monday, January 10. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the 83-year-old suffered back injuries during the fall.

The man was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
