By Staff Reporter

Police are hunting a man after a car was set alight in an arson attack in Banbridge.

A blue Ford Focus was set on fire in Hillhead Drive between 11.30pm and 12.20am on Tuesday.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Wright said it was one of a series of arson attacks in Banbridge.

"We would like to speak to a man who was in the Hillside Park/Cline Road area around the time of this incident," he said.

"He is described as being around 28 years of age, white skinned, 5ft 10in with short dark hair, facial stubble and a tattoo containing two initials on the right side of his neck below his ear.

"He was wearing a dark-coloured top, grey-coloured tracksuit bottoms which appeared dirty and flat, white trainers.

"He also spoke with a local accent.

"I believe this man may have information in relation to the arson and would like him, or anyone who can assist us, to contact us at CID in Mahon Road on the 101 non-emergency number."
