Off-licence robbers sought

Police are investigating a robbery at an off licence in the Four Winds area on Wednesday, January 19.

Shortly before 9pm it was reported that two men had entered the shop. They demanded money from two employees before making off with a till drawer and a cash box.

It's believed they ran off in the direction of Carnbrae Park.

The first robber is described as being in his early 20s, around 5' 7” tall of a medium build with pale skin and dirty fair hair. He was wearing a blue and white Peruvian hat along with a grey hoody over a yellow t-shirt, navy tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

The second robber was in his early 20s around 5' 7” tall of a slim build. He was wearing a black hat with a snowflake pattern, a navy jacket, blue bottoms and white trainers.

Both are described as having strong local Belfast accents.

South Belfast MLA Michael McGimpsey said: “It is unacceptable that petty criminals should bring such fear into a quiet and peaceful area of South Belfast.

“Local businesses are already struggling in these tough economic times and do not need this sort of inconvenience.Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
