Winter Wonderland — the Lagan Valley Regional Park’s next ‘Discovery Morning’ takes place tomorrow at 11am and will last for 90 minutes.

Join staff at the Lock Keeper’s Cottage as they explore different aspects of the area in its

Question of faith — a public meeting will be held next Monday, February 8 in the Belvoir Players’ Studio Theatre, opposite Belvoir Primary School.

The subject under discussion is ‘Roman Catholicism’ – Just what is a Roman Catholic? and guest speaker is former nun Pauline English.


Poetry-writing classes — Ballynafeigh Community Development Association (BCDA) is now holding poetry writing classes at its community house.

Community Week — the organisers of the third annual Blackstaff Community Week are encouraging residents to start work on improving the appearance of their streets for the Best Street Competition.

The community week will be held from Monday, April 26, until Saturday, May 1 and the competition is planned to be judged at the end of May.

The main object of the

event is to get as many people as possible participating in doing just one thing for the community week.

There will be individual awards to recognise residents for their efforts in improving the appearance of their street.

Some local people have already started work on this.

Tell all at a history evening, which is planned for Sandy Row Community Centre and will be held on Friday, February 19 at 8pm.

The centre is informing users of the evening at this early stage to give them a chance to do their research!

New Yoga Class — a new yoga class has started, lasting for 15 weeks.

Lunchtime reading — former UTV presenter Anne Hailes will read from her latest work, Standby Studio, at Finaghy Road Library on Thursday, February 11, at 1pm.

She’ll be entertaining listeners with extracts from her collection of anecdotes and behind the scenes revelations of her time at the Ormeau Road studios.

Movie Afternoon — a senior citizens’ classic movie, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, will be shown in Sandy Row Community Centre on Tuesday, February 16 at 1.45pm.
