One Direction begins story of baby girl's life as mum gives birth hours after Belfast concert
One Direction have proved so popular to the kids that they were - partly - responsible for helping to bring about the birth of a Belfast baby.
New Belfast mum Julie-Anne Kirk attended the One Direction concert in the SSE Arena on Friday night - that was despite being eight days past her due date.
But she was not prepared to let that 'Drag her Down'.
Julie-Anne explained: “We had got tickets for the concert when they first went on sale last year and whilst everyone said to me ‘you’re mad going’ to the concert, given that I was a week overdue, I felt good and was sure that everything would be fine.
"My due date was the 15th October but I was determined to get there with my niece Kayley who is 13.”
While Niall, Harry, Louis and Liam gave the thousands in attendance the jitters, Julie-Anne felt an all-together different twinge.
She took herself out of the arena after feeling unwell, only for her waters to break moments later.
'One way or another' the little baby was determined to make her own entrance.
And just two hours later, little Laiya was born at the Mater Hospital at a healthy 7lb 9oz.
Julie-Anne thanked the team at the Mater, she added: “The midwives do an amazing job there and I'm very thankful to them for everything they've done for us, the whole night was an experience to say the least and the team made me feel so relaxed......go to a concert and come home with a baby definitely is one of those moments I will never forget.”
While 'Perfect' Laiya may be keeping her mum 'Up All Night', the band did provide the family with signed One Direction picture to mark the special occasion.
