One in hospital after Belfast crash between lorry and motorcycle

One patient has been taken to hospital after a crash between a lorry and a motorcycle in Belfast on Thursday evening.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) received a call at 4:58pm reporting the crash on the Sydenham Road.

NIAS despatched a rapid response paramedic, an emergency crew and a doctor to the scene. The Charity Air Ambulance, with a HEMS team on board was also tasked to the incident.

After assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The Sydenham Road remains closed in both directions following the crash.
