Organ is to be restored

The sound of perfectly tuned music will soon be heard again from one local church.

St Dorothea’s Gilnahirk has raised over £6,000 to fix its failing organ, installed in 1977, which had been working at only 25 percent of its full potential.

The CT first raised the plight of the organ in February last year, when the church launched an appeal to help raise the much-needed funds.

Reverend Nigel Kirkpatrick said: “I am really pleased that we will be able to make the necessary repairs.

“We reached the target in October and are now waiting for the organ builders to carry out the necessary work.”
