An Orange hall in west Belfast has suffered damage in a paint bomb attack.

Paint was thrown at the wall of Whiterock hall in what police are treating as a sectarian hate crime.

The damage was discovered on Monday afternoon although Inspector Laura Kelly believes the attack may have occurred up to five days ago.

Wesley McCreedy, chairman of the hall's trustees, said he was disappointed by the damage and hoped there would be no further attacks on Orange property.

"The hall has been attacked many times, but we will not be intimidated, we will do what we always do, repair the damage and carry on," he said.

As well as being hit by arsonists multiple times, the building was targeted in a bomb hoax this time last year.

Inspector Kelly appealed for anyone who has information on the incident to get in contact with the police, quoting the reference number 980 on 13/05/19.
