Pair arrested in Pat McCormick murder investigation released
Two men arrested by police investigating the murder of 55-year-old William (Pat) McCormick have been released.
A 20-year-old and a 32-year-old were arrested in Moneyreagh and Ballygowan on Friday morning. They were released on police pending further investigation.
Police also carried out further land and lake searches in connection with Mr McCormick's disappearance. He has never been found.
The father-of-four's disappearance was initially treated as a missing persons case, but was quickly changed to a murder inquiry after police reviewed evidence.
Detective Chief Inspector Peter Montgomery said: "I believe Pat was murdered in or around the vicinity of flats in Castle Street, Comber sometime after 10.45pm on Thursday May 30.
"CCTV footage shows him walking across Castle Street, where he goes under an archway that leads to some flats. This is the last sighting of him anywhere.
"I would like to make a particular appeal in relation to the movements of a blue Ford Transit van which was spotted on the Old Ballygowan Road in Comber at around 2pm on Friday May 31."
A reward of £10,000 has been offered by Crimestoppers for information that leads to the recovery of McCormick's body.
