Pair arrested over stabbing attack

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Belfast.

The incident, which happened in the Iveagh Drive area of the Falls Road, left a 23-year-old male suffering multiple stab wounds to his head and body.

The victim was discovered at around 3.30am this morning by police on patrol.

He was taken to hospital and his condition has been described as stable.

A 23-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

A woman, 26, was also detained on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Detectives at Tennent Street have appealed for witnesses.
