Pair charged with money laundering amid PSNI international drug trafficking investigation

A man and a woman have been charged with money laundering offences by police investigating an international drug trafficking operation.

A 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested as part of the PSNI’s ongoing major international drug trafficking operation.

The suspects were arrested in the Milton Keynes area of England on Thursday morning.

The pair are due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates court on Saturday May, 30.

Leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop, said: “This is a complex investigation, but we are vigorously pursuing all lines of inquiry which includes pursuing suspected criminal finances. Nine people have already been charged in connection with this investigation.”
