By Laura Abernethy

Two men were arrested yesterday after police seized drugs worth around £100,000 in Coleraine and east Belfast.

Police seized ecstasy, herbal cannabis and diazepam tablets as well as cash and drugs paraphernalia in planned raids on a property in Coleraine and two properties in East Belfast.

The men, aged 25 and 32, remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Sean Taylor from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch said: "This seizure is another example of the PSNI's commitment to policing the threat posed by drugs in Northern Ireland.

"The PSNI remains committed to tackling the sale and supply of drugs in Northern Ireland and will continue to carry out intelligence-led and proactive operations like this one."

Detective Inspector Taylor continued: "Whilst I welcome the fact that these drugs have been taken off our streets, I continue to appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information about the supply or use of illegal drugs.

"Anyone with any information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
