Pair held at gun point as masked men force them to hand over car keys in Newtownabbey


Masked men held a man and a woman at gunpoint as they forced them to hand over their keys and made off with their car in Newtownabbey.

Two men, one armed with a firearm, entered a Ballycraigy Gardens home through the back door, pointed the firearm at the occupants, and demanded the keys to their car, according to Antrim detectives.

The male and female occupants handed over their keys and the men made off with their white Peugeot 308 car. The car was later discovered at Kiln Road.

A handbag was also reported to have been stolen from the house.

Detectives are investigating the incident which happened just before 11pm on Monday September 28.

Detective Sergeant Colin Gray said: “I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity near Ballycraigy Gardens or Kiln Road on Monday evening to contact detectives at Antrim on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
