Pair taken to hospital after two car crash in Co Antrim

A man and woman are in a stable condition in hospital following a two car crash in Co Antrim.

The smash happened outside Greenisland shortly after 5pm on Thursday evening.

A number of ambulance crews attended the scene along with members of the fire service to help free at least one of those caught in the wreckage.

Two people - including a man and a woman - were taken to Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for the Belfast Trust said both were in a stable condition.

Police have advised motorists the the Upper Road at Greenisland is closed between Monkstown and Greenisland.
