Pam's People: Dedicated followers of fashion set for big week

By Pamela Ballantine

There is a definite nip in the air so it is time to get the coats out and there were some gorgeous ones on show at the launch of West Coast Cooler Fashion Week in a brand new venue, a converted warehouse in Bruce Street.

This space will be transformed from October 15-19 and will showcase the best fashion from top designers to the High Street with space for a sushi and cocktail bar and some pop-up shops.

Before the nights draw in too much there is still a bit of evening light out there and it was put to great use by Belfast city centre law firm C&H Jefferson which celebrated the launch of its new website at its annual barbecue on the Ivory Rooftop at Victoria Square.

The firm had another reason to celebrate as the substantial proceeds from the event were donated to Glenveagh Special School.

Capturing wildlife on camera is no easy matter but 12 photographers from all over Northern Ireland have excelled themselves with their work entitled 'Nature Matters'.

This photographic competition – which is sponsored by Bombardier Aerospace – captures our wonderful natural habitat and its inhabitants and congratulations to Debbie Deboo who was proclaimed the winner at a ceremony in Belfast City Hall where the finalists' photos will be on display until September 20.
