Panama heat is no sweat for Northern Ireland's Green and White Army

By Staff Reporter

At 29C, the weather in Panama City was only a few degrees higher than Northern Ireland's heatwave yesterday.

The Green and White Army has invaded the Central American country ahead of Northern Ireland's friendly against Panama.

And while the fans at home may be slightly cooler, they have the advantage of not getting caught up in any of the tropical thunderstorms hitting Panama.

Supporters at home have also welcomed the news that they will be able to watch action from the two friendlies online this week, after fears that the games against Panama and Costa Rica would not be broadcast.

The BBC confirmed yesterday that highlights of the first fixture against Panama would be available on the BBC Sport website this morning.

And that will be followed by live coverage of this Sunday's match against Costa Rica, kicking off at 7pm.
