Panti Bliss to deliver Pride lecture in Belfast
One of the world's most famous drag queens will deliver today's Amnesty International Pride lecture addressing homophobia in Northern Ireland.
The annual event, this year held at the Mac in Belfast, is sold-out, and will see Dublin's Panti Bliss, also known as Rory O'Neill, speak on equality issues impacting the LGBTI community here.
Panti gained a worldwide following and made international headlines earlier this year when she took to the stage of Dublin's Abbey Theatre to highlight homophobia across Ireland.
"I have been coming to Northern Ireland for years," she said. "It's a great place and a place transformed for the gay community over recent years. But there is still a long way to go."
The Belfast Pride parade will take place on Saturday.
