Parts of viable explosive device found by police

Component parts of a viable explosive device have been recovered by police in Co Tyrone.

They were found during a planned search in the Evish Road area of Strabane by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) serious crime branch.

Army technical experts were called to examine the objects left in a lane off the road and said they were viable parts of a bomb.

They have since been removed for further examination.

All roads in the area have now reopened to traffic and the security alert has ended.
