Passenger injured in plane landing incident at Robin Hood Airport

By Michelle Smyth

A small plane travelling from Belfast got into difficulties after landing in Doncaster last night.

One passenger on board the plane was taken to hospital to be checked out.

It is believed the Links Air plane experienced a problem with its undercarriage at around 7.30pm as it came into land. It reportedly ended up on its side after landing.

Robin Hood Airport was closed following the incident and investigators were called in to examine the plane at the side of the runway.

Airport boss Steve Gill apologised to passengers who were due to use the airport. It is believed 10 flights were affected.

“Our team will work to ensure the airport reopens as soon as possible,” he said. Passengers were advised to obtain the flight information from their airline.
