Pat Ward murder probe officers get more time to question suspects

Detectives investigating the murder of Pat Ward in Clogher have been granted an additional 28 hours to question two suspects.

A court gave detectives more time to interview a 23-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman who were arrested on Saturday morning on suspicion of murder.

The body of the 30-year-old, who was originally from Sligo but moved to Clogher with his family last November, was discovered in an alleyway in the town's McCrea Park at around 8.15am on Saturday.

It is understood that he had suffered stab wounds.
