Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run collision

A pedestrian was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver in Crossmaglen early on Tuesday morning.

The man aged in his 20s was struck by a car in Cardinal O Fiaich Square and was taken to hospital.

A blue Volkswagen Passat has been recovered by police from the market in Crossmaglen.

Inspector Denise Graham is appealing for anyone who was in the centre of the town just before 6.20am and who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any information about the movements of the car or its occupants following the collision to contact officers in Newry.
