Pedestrian killed in Belfast crash - woman arrested

A pedestrian has been killed in a crash in west Belfast.

The Andersonstown Road between Slievegallion Drive and the Kennedy Way roundabout remains closed after the incident at 4.30pm on Monday.

The 48-year-old died after he was hit by a red Toyota Aygo car.

The Ambulance Service sent a number of crews to the scene.

Police said a 19-year-old woman has been arrested and have appealed for information.

There have been reports of severe traffic disruption in the area which has been compounded by an ongoing security alert in the area.

Bus services have been diverted and police are advising motorists to seek an alternative route.
