Belfast's Stormont Hotel has completed their renovation programme which has seen Hastings Hotels invest in over £1 million.

The Stormont Hotel, based on the Upper Newtownards Road area of the city, has had a complete make-over during the past 18 months.

As part of the renovation programme, the lounge has been extended and is now twice the size complete with a new bar and coffee station.

The capacity of the Grand Ballroom has increased from 340 to 400 with the restaurant receiving an extensive redevelopment.

Twenty bedrooms have also been upgraded.

Andy McNeill, general manager of the Stormont Hotel said: "We are delighted to have completed the renovation programme which has seen an investment by Hastings Hotel in excess of £1M over the last 18 months.

"As a group we pride ourselves on continuous investment to ensure we make the most of our properties and offer our guests the first-class service they know to expect everytime.

"With this ongoing investment in the Stormont Hotel, we are confident that we can continue to maintain standards and cope with the growing markets for overseas visitors while providing the very best of Northern Ireland hospitality."

Mr McNeill added: "The hotel is conveniently located opposite Stormont Parliament Buildings and is a popular base for escorted coaches, especially with the ample car-parking available which has been increased to 400 spaces as part of the renovation programme.

"In keeping with our location, we have renamed the restaurant The Assembly Chamber and the private dining suite beside it has been renamed The Senate Chamber."
