Pensioner escapes gun attack at her south Belfast home
A woman in her 60s has escaped a gun attack at her home on Sunday night.
Four shots were ired through the kitchen window of Dinah Henry's house in south Belfast.
The attack happened on a property at Eliza Street Terrace in the Markets area at about 9pm last night.
There were no reports of any injuries.
On Saturday around 50 people were evacuated from their homes in the Markets area as Army bomb disposal teams examined a suspicious object. It was later declared an elaborate hoax.
SDLP councillor Pat McCarthy said: "This is a worrying development that within the space of a weekend we have an elaborate hoax bomb attack and then a gun attack.
"People will be watching to see what the police are doing about this."
Shots were also fired at a house in the Carnbane Gardens area of Newry last night.
The incident happened at about 11.20pm. No one was in the property at the time and no one was injured.
Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about either incident to come forward.
