Pensioner hurt in doorstep attack

A pensioner required hospital treatment after a gang of men attacked him on his doorstep in Belfast.

The man in his 70s was knocked to the ground and sustained a cut to the head in the assault at Rosapenna Court in the north of the city.

Three men had called at his door at about 7pm on Friday night and demanded money. The scuffle ensued but the men made off empty-handed.

All three attackers wore hooded tops and scarves covered their faces.
