Police have condemned thugs who held an 83-year-old man on a chair while two others raided his home.
The pensioner was left shaken following the incident which took place in the Iveagh Walk area of Banbridge on Saturday night.
Three men, who covered their faces, entered the property around 10pm. One restrained the pensioner in a chair while two others ransacked his home. They fled with a sum of money.
Sergeant Stephen Wilson said: "It was reported that three males wearing scarves around their faces, wearing hats and coats entered the house at approximately 10pm. One of the men held the 83-year-old male occupant in a chair in the living room while the other two males searched the house. The men fled the house with a quantity of cash. The man was unharmed, but left shaken by the ordeal. I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or anyone with any information which could assist police with their enquiries to contact detectives on 101."
