Pensioner's house ransacked by gang

A 74-year-old man is recovering after being robbed in south Belfast.

He was left shaken when his home at Ashley Avenue was ransacked by men purporting to be from the Water Board.

He was overpowered and pushed back into the house by one of the burglars when he asked for identification.

The thief is described as being 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, with chubby features, clean shaven and with short, dark hair.

Police at Musgrave Street are investigating.
