Pensioners terrorised in two weekend burglaries

A knife-wielding burglar has terrorised an elderly woman during an aggravated burglary.

The man broke into the pensioner’s home in Seacash Walk in Antrim just before midnight on Saturday.

He threatened her before making off with a sum of money and jewellery.

His victim was left badly shaken after the incident.

The burglar is described as young, approximately 5ft 8in, of thin build with short, mid-brown hair.

He was wearing light-coloured clothing and had a scarf covering his face.

Anyone with information on the attack is asked to contact police in Newtownabbey

Another pensioner was also targeted in their home by a gang in Hillsborough.

Up to five males broke into a house and ransacked several rooms before leaving.

It is not believed that anything was taken during the incident.

The elderly victim was described by police as being left badly shocked after the burglary.

Police want anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious — in particular anyone who may have seen a white Audi A5 car with distinctive black wheels in the area — on Friday night to contact Lisburn CID on 0845 600 8000.
