Phone taken from man at gunpoint in east Belfast shop armed robbery

A man had his phone taken from him at gunpoint during the armed robbery of a shop in east Belfast.

Police are investigating the incident which happened on My Lady’s Road.

A masked man armed with a firearm entered the shop at around 6.25am on Friday December 19.

He forced a female employee into a toilet cubicle in the back of the shop before stealing a quantity of cigarettes.

A male customer who entered the store during the robbery was also threatened with the firearm and forced to the back of the store.

The customer had his phone taken from him at gunpoint.

The robber is described as around 5’ 11” tall, thin and wearing a black balaclava, green combat/camouflage style jacket and black gloves.

Detectives at Musgrave CID are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed any suspicious people or vehicles. The number to call is 101.
