Five casualties were taken to hospital after a two vehicle crash which saw an engine torn from a vehicle and occupants thrown from the car in Co Antrim.

The two vehicle crash happened on April 3 at 8.33am on the Roguery Road, Toomebridge.

Firefighters had to cut a casualty who was trapped in one of the vehicles using hydraulic cutting equipment.

In the other vehicle two occupants had been ejected and two others were out of the car on arrival of Firefighters.

Five accident and emergency crews attended along with a rapid response vehicle and one officer.

Following assessment and treatment at the scene three patients were taken to Antrim Area Hospital and two were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The PSNI were also in attendance.
