Pipe bomb made safe in Lisburn

A pipe bomb has been made safe by bomb disposal experts in Lisburn.

The viable device was discovered in the Lady Wallace Crescent area of the city.

A number of homes were evacuated during Friday morning's security alert, with associated road closures.

A PSNI spokeswoman said Army Technical Officers were tasked to the scene and made the device safe.

The alert has been declared over and roads have reopened.
