Firefighters and police in Londonderry were attacked by stone-wielding youths on two occasions over the weekend, police have said.

Police were pelted with missiles when they attended an arson attack at an electricity sub-station around 9pm on Friday.

Police said the fire damaged the unit at Daisyfield Park.

Stones were also thrown at police and firefighters on Saturday at 5pm on Lecky Road after they were called to a car fire.

Police are appealing for information.
