Police anger as Belfast concert-goers risk lives walking on motorway

By Staff Reporter

Police have hit out at young concert-goers for risking their lives on a Belfast motorway.

DJ Ben Nicky played what he described as the "biggest headline show of his career" at Belfast's Custom House Square on Saturday. Over 7,500 tickets were sold.

However, police said revellers leaving the show risked their lives by walking on the M3.

One officer said it was "uncomfortable to watch" a youth seemingly oblivious to a coach stopping behind him as he walked along the middle of the carriageway.

"I'm sure many people enjoyed Ben Nicky at Custom House Square," the PSNI said.

"However, what is not enjoyable, is receiving reports of young people walking along the motorway.

"One individual decided to walk up the centre of the M3. Motorways are not for pedestrians. In future, please sort your lift home."
