Police appeal after Derry shop robbery

Detectives are appealing following a robbery of a commercial premises in Londonderry on Wednesday evening.

Police received reports at around 5pm that a male entered the shop on the Foyle Road area of the city, and threatened staff members with a crutch.

He attempted to take money from the cash register without success before making off with a charity box.

The man was described as wearing a black baseball hat, a black zip up hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms with a black stripe.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Strand Road on 101 quoting 1134 27/12/17.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
