Police appeal after report of paraglider in difficulty in Co Antrim

Police have issued an urgent appeal after reports of a paraglider getting into difficulty in Co Antrim.

A PSNI officer, posting on PSNI Ballymena, said police received a report of a paraglider in potential difficulty in the Slemish/Buckna area.

"Our colleagues at Air Support have conducted aerial searches of the area but we have not been able to trace the paraglider," an officer said.

"If you were paragliding in the area today, can you make contact with us on 101, quoting ref: 1588 040819 to let you know you are safe."

Anyone with information that could help officers establish the identify and whereabouts of the paraglider is asked to call 101, quoting the reference number above.
