Police appeal after victim is shot in feet and hands
A man is being treated for gunshot wounds after being blasted in the hands and feet in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.
The victim, who is in his 30s, was targeted at Norglen Parade in the Turf Lodge area of the city on Sunday evening.
Norglen Parade has been the scene of several gun attacks carried out by a republican vigilante group targeting alleged drug dealers.
The man was found at around 9.30pm lying on a grassy area, and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
PSNI Detective Inspector Rowland said: "This was a brutal and savage attack on a man in a densely populated residential area and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist us with our inquiries to contact detectives."
Sinn Fein MLA for west Belfast, Pat Sheehan, has also condemned the attack.
He said: "I condemn this shooting outright. There can be no place for these type of actions in our society."
