Police appeal for man who disappeared after he was pulled from river
Police said they are becoming increasingly concerned for a man who has disappeared after he was pulled from a river.
They said a man was extracted from the Mourne River near Strabane at around 7.15pm on Friday but he then disappeared and they have been unable to trace him.
Police said they were not able to ascertain his well-being and are now asking for him to make contact as soon as possible.
The man was assisted to the shore just downstream of the Strabane footbridge, on the Ballycolman side of the river.
He is described as having closely-cut fair hair, wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and slippers, and is possibly of Eastern European origin.
An operation was then initiated with a number of local volunteer groups as well as Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue service and the Ambulance Service all offering their assistance.
