A number of shots were fired at a house in west Belfast early yesterday.

The property on Clonard Crescent was attacked by an unknown person or people sometime between 2am and 2.25am.

A man was inside the home at the time of the shooting, but he escaped without injury.

Police appealed for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said any witnesses should contact detectives at Musgrave Street police station by calling the non-emergency 101 number, quoting reference number 122 29/07/16.

Alternatively, those who wish to give information anonymously can do so by contacting the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
