Police appeal over hit-and-run

Police in east Belfast are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run incident that left a woman injured.

The 34-year-old was involved in the collision on the Woodstock Road, at the junction with Tildarg Street, at around 1am last Saturday.

The PSNI said the victim was attempting to cross the road when she stepped between two parked cars to wait for a break in the traffic.

“One of the parked cars reversed into the female and knocked her off her feet into the path of an oncoming vehicle,” a spokesman said. “The female attended hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”

The vehicle involved is described as a black hatchback-type car, with two men travelling in it. Both were believed to be in their early 20s and of slim build.
