Police arrest 'paedophile hunters' in Ballymena and Newtownabbey

Police have arrested three self-styled paedophile hunters.

A 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were arrested in Ballymena. Another man, aged 51, was also arrested in Newtownabbey.

They are being questioned on suspicion of offences including false imprisonment, intimidation and attempted intimidation.

The arrests come ahead of a parade in support of so-called paedophile hunting groups in Belfast this weekend.

Separately, three men have appeared in court charged in connection with the activities of the groups and after a BBC reporter was involved in an angry exchange with individuals from the groups as he tried to investigate their activities.
