Police believe Lisburn burglaries linked

Detectives believe a burglary and an aggravated burglary carried out in the same area of Lisburn are linked.

A woman her in 50s required medical treatment for shock after four masked men burgled her family home at Laurelhill Road on Friday.

At around 9.30pm four masked men, one armed with a screwdriver, entered a house, threatened the family of four and locked them in a room. The men then made off with a number of items, including money and jewellery.

The family – a couple in their 50s, a woman in her 20s and a teenage boy – were not injured. However, the older woman required medical treatment.

Detectives believe that there is a link with an aggravated burglary that occurred in the Glenavy Road area a number of hours later.

A man aged in his 70s was asleep in bed at approximately 1am on Saturday when he awoke to find two men, both armed with a suspected firearm.

He was then bound and locked in a room. The man was left very shaken.

Information about either crime can be reported to CID in Lisburn on 101.
