Police car rammed after chase in Banbridge and Lurgan - boy (14) among four charged

Police helicopter was deployed to locate the suspects

A 14-year-old boy has been charged along with three men for a number of offences following a police pursuit of a vehicle.

Police in Banbridge charged four males aged 14, 19, 20 and 23 with a number of offences including going equipped for burglary, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, dangerous driving, and failing to stop, report and remain where an accident occurred causing injury.

The charges are believed to relate to an incident in the Lurgan and Banbridge areas on Monday April 12, involving the short police pursuit of a vehicle which ended with a police vehicle being rammed and the use of the police helicopter to locate the suspects in the surrounding area.

The 14-year-old is due to appear at Newry Youth Court on Monday May 18.

The 19-year-old and 23-year-olds are to appear at Armagh MC this morning and the 20-year-old at Banbridge MC on Thursday May 7.
