Police conduct searches in Belfast into dissident republican activity

Police conducted searches in west Belfast on Wednesday

Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch carried out a search of land and two properties in west Belfast on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.

Detective Inspector James Brannigan appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

"An investigation is ongoing following today's searches," he said.

"We continue to take action against and disrupt the activities of those involved in terrorism.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information about terrorists to contact detectives on 101 or alternatively information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800555111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
